Scared, but ready

To say I’m scared is probably a huge understatement. Five years ago I started to work towards my goal of being a nurse. I am now four months from reaching that goal.
Being at this point is filled with so many emotions. Anyone who has known me has known Nursing has pushed me to my breaking points. It has been filled with challenges, from my first day of clinical prep where even the pressure from something as simple as hand washing correctly brought me to tears, to taking a break from the program, to giving my first needle.
My heart has ached, while holding someone’s hand as they struggled to breathe, but then followed by the most wholesome moment when the man, looked at me, squeezed my hand harder, and thanked me.
I can’t even imagine what the next 4 months has in store for me, but it all starts here with orientation. Here we go.
